Mathew grew up in a small town in Wisconsin until he joined the Army at 18 years old as a combat engineer. He graduated from Arizona State University in December 2012 with his degree in Electrical Engineering. He has always had a strong connection with outdoors activities, so the solar/renewable industry was a natural fit for him.
Worked as a Testing Engineer at TUV Rhineland PTL, providing IEC and UL certification to new solar modules
Worked on-site as a Commissioning Engineer for over 1 gigawatt of solar installations at First Solar for over 7 years
Moved to the Operations and Maintenance side of First Solar and oversaw their substation maintenance and testing program
Oversaw 400MW fleet of solar & BESS projects and worked to continually improve efficiency and availability at Arizona Public Service’s (APS) Renewable Generation group
